Hi everyone! I just got back from the most fun any woman with 2 small children can have! I went to the NC SU Demo (a yahoo group for NC demos) quarterly meeting! There was about 30 demos from all over NC there! And we had 6 demonstrations showing some FUN techniques and ideas! I'll share those with you another time (I'm EXHAUSTED - we started Friday night!), but I wanted to show you what I won! YES! On top of a good time and learning experience, we got prizes! YEAH! So take a look!

So, are you wondering WHAT IN THE WORLD this thing is? Well, take another look! It's a heat gun holder! AND it's been decorated using the rub-ons from the SAB mini! You can do the same with the rub-ons from the Spring/Summer Collection AND the Occasions mini! I also got to see samples where people have used the rub-ons to decorate travel mugs, glass flower vases, jars, rocks (YES ROCKS! The shiny worry rocks from the beach, not the rough ones you find on gravel roads :P I'll show you a pic of that another time - as I unpack!), cards, scrapbook pages, picture frames..... I could go on and on! The only thing is, they have to be hand washed (rubbed, not scrubbed), but for something this cute - WHO CARES! LOL
More goodies to come soon!

TWO CARDS OF MY OWN CREATION!

As far as I know I didn't case these from anyone! LOL That doesn't mean I didn't see something similar MONTHS ago and unknowingly implemented it here! So here they are! I'm trying to decide which one to do for a swap I have in a couple weeks. ANY SUGGESTIONS as to which one to use are welcome! LOL I like them both!
Both use Pretty in Pink as the base and Mellow Moss, Barely Banana, and Perfect Plum as accent colors.
This one uses the Always stamp set (I LOVE this set! I just got it!). I stamped the heart in versamark, then using my Stampin' Pastels, I tapped my applicator randomly over it with the Mellow Moss. Once I had a few spots of that, I applied the Pretty in Pink pastel! I like the look of the heart :) I then cut the square (originally 2.5"x2.5") in half both ways, mounted the 4 squares on a square (3x3) of Perfect Plum and, using my Mat Pack, pierced down the middle. The sentiment is stamped in Perfect Plum Craft ink and embossed using clear embossing powder. I also added some natural hemp twine to tie it all together!
This one is using the A Beautiful Thing stamp set (another new one I LOVE!) For this one I stamped the flower in versamark and added the Pretty in Pink and Perfect Plum from my pastels again. I mounted each of those on Barely Banana and mounted THOSE on one large square of Perfect Plum. Using my mat pack again, I pierced down the middle both ways again. For the sentiment, I used my markers and colored it Mellow Moss (small words), Perfect Plum (Life), and Pretty in Pink (little flower and swirly). Then I mounted that on Mellow Moss and added it to my card with dimensionals. At the bottom I wrapped a piece of Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon and tied a piece of Whisper White taffeta to it. This one takes more time than the other....

Well, I hope you enjoy!

DREAM BIG!

YEAH! I CAN make a card without the Priceless set! LOL This card was made for Stephen Nelson (see the link in the post below).

To make this card, I started with a Sahara Sand base, and added a 2.5x5.5 piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock with some Satin Ribbon wrapped around it. I then stamped my {DREAM} in Bravo Burgundy slightly above the Chocolate Chip. Next I inked up my Christmas Tree from Wondrous gift with Handsome Hunter. I then placed my big stamp from Think Big on that stamp (kissing technique), this is what gives the letters the squiggles. I then moved straight to the Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped my word. Next, I outlined the letters with Bravo Burgundy. For the distressed edges on the Very Vanilla, I took a pair of scissors and opened the blades slightly and ran the paper across the intersecting area. I found for best results I had to hold the paper at an angle and pull it DOWN on the blades... Once that was done on all 4 sides, I inked the edges of the paper with Bravo Burgundy (to ink my edges, I place the paper in the trough around the edge of the inkpad and swipe the paper around). This was matted on the Handsome Hunter and pop-dotted on the card. I hope he likes it!

YES! Another Priceless card!

I made this card for my daughter's teacher. Her son just won an essay contest and gets to go to Washington and have lunch with the President! You can read about it here - http://www.newbernsj.com/news/essay_...ephen_won.html

Also, I want to thank Kelly (stamping_KML) for her inspiration! I CASED this from her! You can see her version here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/699748?si=congratulations

The base is Mellow Moss and I stamped the Linen background on it in Very Vanilla. The torn paper is Pretty in Pink and Perfect Plum. The circles are also Mellow Moss. The scallop circle is Barely Banana. The butterfly is stamped in Pretty in Pink craft ink and embossed. The other 2 images are stamped in Barely Banana and embossed. The Congratulations sentiment is from Warmest Regards and stamped in Perfect Plum classic ink.

Welcome card for new neighbors

I JUST realized that we are getting new neighbors. The house across the street from us has been on the market for NEARLY a year! Well, earlier this week, during the heavy winds we had, the sign disappeared from the front yard. Michael and I didn't know if it has blown away (our trash can nearly did and the 4 days worth of trash IN it DEFINITELY did!) or if the house had sold (there was never a SOLD thing on the sign). Well, tonight I came home to 3 cars in their driveway and people PAINTING inside! We haven't been over yet, but I made this card so we could go welcome them properly. SUPER easy and fast! I'll list the details below the pic!
The base is Whisper White. I used Time Well Spent and Warm Words stamp sets. For the big flower I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used my Stipple brush to put Yoyo Yellow, Pretty in Pink, and Pink Passion ink (squished the inkpad to get ink in the top) over the embossed image. Then I used a papertowel to wipe away the ink from the image (hence, emboss resist). I stamped the stem in Chocolate Chip and the leaves and sentiment in Gable Green (an oft forgotten color). Then I used my newly purchased (and VERY loved!) mat pack to pierce the paper in a square around the sentiment, down the stem, and around the leaves. Like I said, very easy.
