BLOG CANDY!!

Well, it seems this weekend I passed the 200 hits mark! YEAH! So because of that AND in honor of those women (and some men) who fight the battle, I'm giving away some blog candy.

Please post to let me know when you have YOUR mammogram scheduled for (or the date you had it done). I will pick a winner next Monday - Oct. 22. The winner will receive a Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write marker and a pack of 8.5x11 Pretty in Pink cardstock. Sorry, this is only open to US citizens as this will be a CDO.

To answer my own question - mine is scheduled for October 23. I'm only 30 and this is my second one due to family history.

Good luck!

I don't have one scheduled yet, I am only 26 and it doesn't run in my family. I wonder what age they start them at normally?

Wow, this is a great question to ask everyone. I don't have a mammogram scheduled, but I do have a yearly physical scheduled for Oct. 26. I'll ask my dr. about it then. Thanks again...I'll add that to my list of things to talk about with her!

I just had my 6 month recheck last month. They found a little something last year so I've been having it checked periodically. But this last time they told me to go ahead and make it one year til my next one so I think I'm in the clear! Thanks for offering blog candy for a great cause. LOVE your pink ribbon on your header! And yes, feel free to link to me~

Yeah ! for all those women getting mammograms. I had mine in the spring and I've been getting them for over 15 years. I started young because of family history.

Mine is scheduled for Friday, November 9th. I had to wait until after November 1st since that's when I had it last year for insurance purposes, kwim?

I hope everyone reading your post will take this seriously. I always have my mammogram right around my birthday (10/12), which just happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month AND the month my breast cancer was detected by mammogram. For those posting and wondering when to start getting mammograms, check with your doctor. HOWEVER, you should be doing breast self exams, no matter what age you are. Thanks for letting me play along.

I'm past due for one since it's been 3 years. I guess I don't want to open another can of worms since I'm already fighting cancer elsewhere. But I have a 28 year old daughter that has never had one so I WILL encourage her to get one.

Mine is not scheduled until December. FYI, I am a member of a cancer group in our county. We received a grant from Susan G. Komen Foundation ("THINK PINK") to help young women between ages of 35 to 50 and who have no insurance or high deductibles have free mammograms. A gas voucher is also provided. We just today hosted an event open to all women of all ages regardless of income, insurance, etc. to get free screenings. It was well attended and lots of info, prizes, etc. were given out. MAMMOGRAMS...a few minutes for a lifetime!!

I'm up to date. Thank you for the reminder. It seems that this disease is attacking younger woman now, so doctors need to consider lowering the age to get started on this procedure.
